80% of the world’s evangelical Christians live in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Over the last 50 years, God’s church has grown exponentially in these areas.

These regions have tremendous mission sending potential to help bring the gospel to unreached peoples, but they currently send only 20% of the world’s cross-cultural missionaries!

Have you ever noticed that many Christmas decorations consist of individual items linked together? Strings of twinkling lights, shiny tinsel, and colorful beads crown our mantles and wind around our trees. Chains of popcorn, cranberries and paper add a homespun touch.
The Advent season itself involves links&ndash;links of blessing that began with God&rsquo;s promise to bless all nations through Abraham and his children: &ldquo;In you and your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.&rdquo;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

God&rsquo;s blessing passed from Abraham
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;to Isaac
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; to Jacob
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;to the nation of Israel
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;and then to their descendant, Jesus.&nbsp;
With Jesus&rsquo; birth came the fulfillment of God&rsquo;s promise of a Savior, the ultimate blessing for the nations. But the links of blessing didn&rsquo;t stop there. They form a never-ending chain of blessing that winds down through generations of Jesus-loving families and continues to grow today.&nbsp;
You are a link on a blessing chain. You may be connected to past generations of family members who loved and obeyed God&mdash;great-grandparents, grandparents and parents who blessed you with the good news of Jesus. Or perhaps you form the initial link on a blessing chain, representing the first generation of believers in your family.&nbsp;
Whatever your position on the chain, you have the privilege of helping extend it. As a parent, you are uniquely positioned to disciple future links of blessing&mdash;your own children (and grandchildren). Discipling your children to love God and bless the nations won&rsquo;t always be easy, but do not lose heart.&nbsp;
Be encouraged. God has designed your family to play an important role in the part of his story that is unfolding today. As such, you become links of blessing not only to future generations but also to the nations around you. Through your faithfulness, the families of the earth, including those living in cultures yet untouched by the gospel, will be blessed with the good news that the Savior of the world has come.
